Retailer of the Month: StrongHold Part2

POSTED BY: Kcee

Strong Hold Shop is a brand new streetwear, extreme sport, and urban men’s boutique situated right in the middle of Main Street in Boonton, NJ. Strong Hold Shop remains unique because of its diversity in men’s fashion. The goal of Strong Hold is to never be one dimensional and continue satisfying it’s customers by having the newest and most unique brands they can find. TLFI is proud to support Strong Hold as our Retailer of the Month for August 2010.

Part 2 of our interview with StrongHold owner Michael Strong:

Shoplifting stories? Well, this wasn’t at the shop but at an event we were sponsoring.  We had a table one night in New York City at a kick boxing match and we were getting the word out on our shop, and selling some gear. I looked over and I asked my boy who was working with me, “Wasn’t there 3 hats sitting there?” (when there was only two) his response was, “Shut up! Was there?”. I knew we hadn’t sold it so I was pretty annoyed that we had just got jacked.  I had the strangest feeling though I would catch some jerk wearing it.  Low and behold I saw a kid walking past the table towards the end of the night and the dude took his hat off and tried to hide it in his jacket.  I ran over towards him, I told him it was our hat and he didn’t pay for it, so either give us the money or give us the hat.  He kept denying it and it started to get ugly.  My boys came over and his boys came over and it was getting heated.  Then his own friend finally said “Dude your so embarrassing, give the hat back!” That’s when he threw it up in the air and said, “You guys don’t know what your talking about” and he booked.  It all worked out because there was some little kid who was real sad because he couldn’t afford anything, so I just gave him that one because I really didn’t want to sell it after the scum bag was wearing it and the kid was so excited to have something from us.  TRUE STORY.

MILFS!? Umm… lol… Yea sometimes there are really hot women who come in with there kids, but I just keep it on a real professional level and talk to the kid about what kind of gear he likes. That probably goes over a little better than me hitting on my customers mom!

Top TLFI sellers: So far each piece from TLFI has been doing really well and selling about equally. I have been getting a really huge response from customers when peeping Welcome Back Reggie and Urban Viking.  For my grand opening the Roper Hoodie sold out in like a half an hour of the doors opening.  I even get requests for that one all the time.

Product- I really would love to see TLFI come out with some really dope and well made basketball Jerseys. I think they would sell out in a heart beat. I would keep three for myself alone. One I wear, one for back up, and then one that I would frame and hang in my store because it would be just a revolutionary piece for the street wear and TLFI community.

Koala- Walllla Hooochie Bang Bang…….
Uzi- Does it!!
Jersey- New Jersey!
DJ- Envy
Tagging- True Love
East- Coast

Retailer of the Month: StrongHold Part1

POSTED BY: Kcee

Strong Hold Shop is a brand new streetwear, extreme sport, and urban men’s boutique situated right in the middle of Main Street in Boonton, NJ. Strong Hold Shop remains unique because of its diversity in men’s fashion. The goal of Strong Hold is to never be one dimensional and continue on satisfying it’s customers by having the newest and most unique brands they can find. Please welcome our Retailer of the Month for August.

Enjoy some fun Q&A with Strong Hold shop owner Michael Strong:

How’s the shop going? The shop is going really well you know.  My crew and I work really hard on the shop and were constantly adding to our inventory so each time a customer walks in there is something new that surprises them.  Every night I can’t sleep because I am thinking of ways to expand the Strong Hold Shop.

Typical Customer? I think because of our diversity in apparel we really have a lot of different customers.  Some of our customers are local skaters, some our up and coming rap artists, and because of my love for MMA, we get a lot of local and even nationally recognized fighters who come in to show support and pick up some gear.  Besides that we have a strong and loyal local base of customers already and then besides that I have a lot of friends and other shop owners who come in and shop.  In Jersey if you own a shop or a clothing line, it is an un-spoken law that you only shop at local shops, boutiques, or you show your support for the up and coming lines.  Support your local hustler!!

Events: So far I have had local dj’s come out and spin in front of the shop.  It always turns out really good.  Everyone comes to chill, listen to good music, and just hang out in a cool environment and the town is actually really cool about it. I am going to start doing more of that once summer is over because in the summer everyone hits the Jersey shore on weekends!!  As far as sponsored athletes so far we have some up and coming local fighters who represent us by wearing our in house fight shorts that are branded Strong Hold.  Other than that we plan on having athletes from all different types of sports, skate, surf, weight lifting, AMA Motor Cross, and hopefully some dope artists and dj’s.  We also have been doing some serious negotiations with some of the top contenders in thumb wrestling and our marketing team thinks we should pick up some of NJ’s best fist pumpers…YEA RIGHT!!!!!!!

Product- I would really love to see TLFI come out with some really dope and well made basketball Jerseys. I think they would sell out in a heart beat. I would keep three for myself alone. One I wear, one for back up, and then one that I would frame and hang in my store because it would be just a revolutionary piece for the street wear and TLFI community.

GERMANY PICS Pt. 2

POSTED BY: alex2tone

Germany, the only place I’ve ever seen that combines protesting, techno and acid, has one-man hot dog stand suits, insane flea markets, and the strangest street performers this side of Venice.
