Heres the deal, I don’t know about the weather in the rest of the US, but here in LA, we are dealing with a schizophrenic mother nature. One day its Vegas hot, and the jeans and flannel you put on in the muggy morning chill become a sweat soaked haz-mat suit, or the shorts you slapped on earlier, when the sun was out, make you knees chatter cuz all of the sudden its 55 degrees and rainy.
Solution? Get into this jacket, the “Airtght” its thin and wearable, yet will protect you from a light shower. Also its black on black with a nice subtle pop lining, and the cut is fitted perfectly for size. You really can’t lose. Underneath you can rock the “Team Reggie” tee, one of my other personal faves……..C’mon guys, get your shit together, I did. Church.

Strong Hold Shop is a brand new streetwear, extreme sport, and urban men’s boutique situated right in the middle of Main Street in Boonton, NJ. Strong Hold Shop remains unique because of its diversity in men’s fashion. The goal of Strong Hold is to never be one dimensional and continue on satisfying it’s customers by having the newest and most unique brands they can find. Please welcome our Retailer of the Month for August.
Enjoy some fun Q&A with Strong Hold shop owner Michael Strong:
How’s the shop going? The shop is going really well you know. My crew and I work really hard on the shop and were constantly adding to our inventory so each time a customer walks in there is something new that surprises them. Every night I can’t sleep because I am thinking of ways to expand the Strong Hold Shop.
Typical Customer? I think because of our diversity in apparel we really have a lot of different customers. Some of our customers are local skaters, some our up and coming rap artists, and because of my love for MMA, we get a lot of local and even nationally recognized fighters who come in to show support and pick up some gear. Besides that we have a strong and loyal local base of customers already and then besides that I have a lot of friends and other shop owners who come in and shop. In Jersey if you own a shop or a clothing line, it is an un-spoken law that you only shop at local shops, boutiques, or you show your support for the up and coming lines. Support your local hustler!!
Events: So far I have had local dj’s come out and spin in front of the shop. It always turns out really good. Everyone comes to chill, listen to good music, and just hang out in a cool environment and the town is actually really cool about it. I am going to start doing more of that once summer is over because in the summer everyone hits the Jersey shore on weekends!! As far as sponsored athletes so far we have some up and coming local fighters who represent us by wearing our in house fight shorts that are branded Strong Hold. Other than that we plan on having athletes from all different types of sports, skate, surf, weight lifting, AMA Motor Cross, and hopefully some dope artists and dj’s. We also have been doing some serious negotiations with some of the top contenders in thumb wrestling and our marketing team thinks we should pick up some of NJ’s best fist pumpers…YEA RIGHT!!!!!!!
Product- I would really love to see TLFI come out with some really dope and well made basketball Jerseys. I think they would sell out in a heart beat. I would keep three for myself alone. One I wear, one for back up, and then one that I would frame and hang in my store because it would be just a revolutionary piece for the street wear and TLFI community.

Germany, the only place I’ve ever seen that combines protesting, techno and acid, has one-man hot dog stand suits, insane flea markets, and the strangest street performers this side of Venice.

What happens when you send a Koala to Germany? Elephant horns, jelly fish, robots, police shoot outs, and more.

Thanks for showing TLFI some love, keep sending in those TLFI photos!

The Closet started in 1993 as a single 100-square-foot shop in Huntington Beach, California, and expanded to 5 locations in Orange County and LA County. Today there are four Orange County stores, Huntington Beach, Costa Mesa, Newport Beach (Fashion Island Shopping Center) and Irvine (Irvine Spectrum) and one LA County, Santa Monica. The Closet sells both men’s and women’s fashions that echo chic international styles with the relaxed California vibe mixed in. Their favorite brand to carry: TLFI of course!
Enjoy some Q&A from our boys over at the Huntington Beach Closet:
How’s the shop doing?
The store is doing really well, especially coming out of a successful memorial day weekend and heading into summer which is our busiest season.
Who is your typical customer?
Our typical customer is in their late teens to mid twenties.
Do you have any interesting shoplifting stories?
A kid stole some shirts from us and tried to run away. I tackled him outside and accidentally ripped his shirt off of him in front of the bar next door and was getting yelled at to “get a room” by all the middle aged white trash men sitting at the bar window.
Do you get many hot MILF’s coming in with their kids?
WE definitely get MILFS in our store and we love it. (especially Timmy).
Does the shop ever do any special events with featured artists?
We have trunk shows and fashion shows for different clothing lines to not only promote their brands, but to attract customers to our store and get them involved.
Which TLFI products sell the best in your shop?
The celebrities with tattoos (Hollyhood Series) and the Team Reggie tanks do very well for us.
What product would you like to see TLFI come out with?
It would be cool to see TLFI come out with some denim or maybe a cool cardigan sweater or leather jacket for fall/winter.

Ewok came by, dropped off some gems, we chopped it up a bit and kept it moving..He has yet to find a home for his Gacy Clown graphic. Too hot even for TLFI if you ask me…
Keep an eye out for some future work including Ewok and TLFI..
