POSTED BY: alex2tone

LAZY DAYS.

These are my most favorite thing we have running right now.
Perfect for watching a cops marathon or for a semi formal slacker katilion. Has a zippered back pocket and its constructed of butter soft heavy gauge fleece.
Pretty much a wetsuit for couch surfers.
Only downside is that it’s not Boner –Safe.
Mazel Tov Snitches.

Can’t Wait for the Fall/Holiday Line

POSTED BY: Kcee

Who’s excited for our Fall/Holiday line come out? Well our friends over at Transworld sure are! Check out some Q&A they did with TLFI founder Alex 2Tone:

What is an example of making something less serious?

One of the things is we have this sweater, its called Varsity Reggie. It’s a fully knitted intarsia crew sweater. There’s a cartoon of a koala bear with an uzi, which is pretty funny applied to intarsia. We do these jabs of different characters and people and kind of make fun of them but not really. We have a shirt of a cartoon of a guy snowboarding and it just says, “Herpes Rocks!” There’s a lot of that kind of thing.

Didn’t you do that “Herpes Rocks” T-shirt before? Are you resurrecting old styles again?

If it makes sense, we throw it in. We were a bunch of places we were never at before, so it’s a new line for them. I can go and pull out stuff [from before] and if they react [put it in the line].

What do you think about flannels? How are your plaids different?

We have some lovely flannels. As far as plaids go, we have to have a point of difference. We have a plaid where the plaid pattern in each square is like, a foot. It’s gigantic so it kind of gets abstracted. The other plaids that we have are engineered. When we do use plaids we find a way to trick them out. We have horizontal stripes with a clean blank fabric. We have dipdyes with ginghams. We’re trying to find ways to reimagine ways to reimagine wovens. You still gotta keep plaids in there. I’m always amazed at how long things will stay past their due. Plaids you think is over and then they just come back for another year.

2Tones Pick of the Week

POSTED BY: alex2tone

A Prophet is a really good French jail movie. I suggest you rent it, download it, screen it on your bathroom wall. While you’re at it get this jacket, (named after said French jail movie).

This snappy little number has washable headphones in the drawstring which link to your phone or mp3 player or whatever you have in your pocket. Wear it for when you get pushed in a pool, the headphones will survive, your phone and dignity will not.

Retailer of the Month: Tradition Pt.2

POSTED BY: Kcee

Tradition is a sneaker and clothing boutique in Westlake Village and Ventura, CA that was founded by Jason Gaines and Andrew Kline back in 2006. We were able to catch up with Andrew after our in-store event at the Westlake Village store earlier this month. Enjoy Part2 of our interview:

How often do you have events or art shows? And how can someone be notified about an upcoming event? We do artshows and events almost every other month. Our past artshows have included works from Eyeone, Patrick Martinez, Axis, Mear, Dethkills, Derek Albeck, Alex Pardee, and more. The best thing to do is follow us on Twitter @shoptradition, sign up for our email list at www.shoptradition.com, or friend us on Facebook!

Which TLFI products sell the best in your shop? Right now we are killing it with the Kim Kardashian tee from theHollyhood series as well as our limited collab with TLFI and GBC.

What product would you like to see TLFI come out with? I think a Reggie stuffed animal would be amazing! Or a Baby Roscoe action figure complete with a surfboard, mini shower cap, and UZI!

Does your retail store and online shop carry the same merchandise? Can you guys do special orders? We have a fully stocked webstore. You can check it out at www.store.shoptradition.com

We do our best to accommodate every request from a customer, and we do special orders when the brands allow it.

What’s next for Tradition? We have a capsule collection that is a collab with Bloodbath and Soul Assassins that is dropping next month! This pack consists of 3 tees, a hoody, a raglan, a snapback, and a pack of bandannas. We also have a collab tee dropping with Group Fly and Jabbee.

We are releasing a Hip hop album that I produced called Carry On Tradition. This record features appearances from Ryu, Ras Kass, B Real, Chace Infinite, Krondon, Planet Asia, Freddie Gibbs, Young De, and many more… Look for that before the summer!
